Our team of Building and Safety professionals maintain current certifications and attend training on a regular basis, to stay current with industry technologies and standards.Willdan Engineering has current full time and part time openings for an ICC Certified Commercial and Residential Building Inspectors in the Orlando, FL. area. The qualified individual will be responsible for inspections of residential, commercial, industrial and other buildings during and after construction.Experience:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions:Thorough knowledge of Florida building codes and regulationsGeneral knowledge of building plans, specifications and drawings, and ability to compare executed work against plans for accuracyAbility to detect errors and code violations in building projectsAbility to perform detailed and professional inspections, and render valid opinions and decisions when necessaryAbility to enforce building codes, firmly and impartiallyAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county officials, contractors, property owners and others to effect satisfactory compliance with specifications and standardsAbility to work independently in a professional and ethical manner while visiting sites to perform inspectionsQualifications:Must be able to perceive, inspect and assess plans, codes and ordinances as well as construction subject to inspection.Frequently positions self to inspect all aspects of building construction including high precarious places, tight spaces, and low to the ground.Frequently ascends/descends steep slopes and moves over uneven natural surfaces and in construction areas to facilitate inspection of building projects.Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.Frequently move about the office to access files and office machinery. Constantly moves about outdoors and in construction environments to ensure compliance with codes and ordinances.3-5 years of Municipal Building and/or Residential one and two family dwelling inspection experienceMust have Florida certifications and be ICC Certified as Building Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Mechanical Inspector, and/or Electrical Inspector.Must have extensive construction experienceMust have excellent customer service skillsWilldan offers a very competitive salary with a full range of benefits.
