At Roush, you are -part of building the future.The Mechanical Technician will assemble components and assemblies in a skilled manner to ensure they fit and function as designed. The Mechanical Technician will also document assembly, torque tool and test information.THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN ORLANDO, FLAs a Mechanical Technician you will:

• Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to provided component and assembly drawings or build documentation or as directed by supervisor
• Perform assembly activities in a skilled manner to ensure the highest quality and prevent damage to components; no forcing or hammering components to fit, etc
• Identify components that have fitment issues prior to installation and bring them to the attention of supervision
• Document assembly completion and record torque tool information in build documentation.
• Perform fabrications tasks
• Operate all shop equipment (hoists, jacks, hand tools, hi-lo, etc.) in a safe manner, according to shop best practices
• Maintain an organized and clean assembly area
• Support department quality system and follow procedures or work instructions provided for assigned projects
• Support customer off-site product retrofit tripsAs a Mechanical Technician you will need:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, correspondence, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form and ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to safely use the following tools: drill, hand tools, air or electric power tools, torque wrench and installation fixturing, hoists, and jacks.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and with a team, and perform tasks accurately to meet deadlines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with high quality standards and ability to problem solve. -Preferred Skills
    • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing or similar preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a product development related assembly environment preferred.
