Job Description:

Position Purpose



  • Provide technical program oversight, test services, and data management for the Innovation Center.


  • Support Product Development projects and customer test programs.


  • Lead Materials testing requests (timber, plastics, fasteners, and composites) cross functionally with procurement and quality teams globally

      Measures


      • Quality of work - data analysis, program set-up, execution, and reporting, observations, insights, and recommendations.


      • Communication of the results to the key program stakeholders.


      • Delivery - project completion and results summary delivered in the agreed upon time.


      • Effective global cross-functional communication


      • Efficient planning and use of both internal and external resources.


      • Adherence to all company Zero Harm policies.


      • Reduction in overall project time without sacrificing quality and thoroughness.



        Major/Key Accountabilities


        • Provide outstanding technical/engineering design and analysis services to a broad array of internal and external customers


        • Set-up and perform product testing according to specified test methods


        • Manage critical product evaluation data


        • Utilize working knowledge of statistics to provide outstanding data analysis and observations


        • Interface with in-region and out-of-region teams (procurement & quality) to support and execute programs via effective communications and test methods


        • Focus on continuous improvement to reduce the total program time and improve the accuracy of the data.


        • Collaborate seamlessly with external engineering service providers



          Qualifications


          • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related, equivalent experience


          • Candidate must be a highly analytical, hands-on person with strong technical skills.


          • Hands on experience working in a high-performance testing or product development facility or similar advanced technical role


          • Data analysis, technical reporting, and project management skills


          • Well versed in Microsoft Office products and data analysis software


          • Passion for continuous improvement, experimentation, and data analysis


          • Skilled in experimental design, and analytical problem solving


          • Ability to excel independently and as a member of cross-functional teams.


          • Desire to be part of a global platform durability team seeking solutions to diverse structural and supply chain challenges.



            Experience


            • 2 years or Co-op/Internship experience in technical environments related to product testing and/or design preferably dealing with material handling products.


            • Experience analysing data, experimental design, and technical documentation.


            • Product design experience with a wide array of materials including evaluations for applications based on mechanical properties.


            • Data analysis using statistics software (e.g., Minitab, SAS, Statistica).



              Pluses


              • Functional knowledge of the pallet pooling industry


              • Hands on 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Pro E, etc.)




                • Complex product assembly and product configuration management


                • Laboratory data management


                • Knowledge of wood as an engineering material


                • Working knowledge of pallet, container, and/or material test standards.
