Job Description:
Construction Management is Responsible Individual (R.I.) for
leadership and oversight of all on-site construction activities
from pre-development to final turnover and will be the R.I. for the
largest contract on a project typically exceeding $100M.
Construction Management ensures overall project safety, quality,
and schedule, while providing technical expertise and mentorship
that all work in place meets requirements of contract documents,
applicable codes, and Disney standards. Communicate with, all Walt
Disney Imagineering Studio's (Design and Planning, Scheduling,
Finance, Estimating, Creative, Show, Project Management), Resort
Operations, Executives, contractors, vendors, and governmental
agencies. This role requires leadership, planning, process, and
execution. Position requires managing a team of Walt Disney
Imagineering construction managers and superintendents who in turn
handle General Contractors to fulfill all requirements of the
contract.Construction Management is the primary responsible Studio
for everything that happens on WDI construction projects, including
all impact to Operations. You will report to Portfolio Construction
Management Executive Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all
Safety standards Ensure QA0-QC compliance Drives Schedule
compliance Manages a sophisticated and large team of personnel
providing leadership, process, mentoring, coaching, evaluation, and
guidance Authorship of construction strategies Provides review of
multiple bid packages and provide recommendation to award. Monitors
on-site construction process and documents Reviews natural
(Hurricane) disaster preparedness annual protocols Manages and
provides input on construction sites during emergency preparedness
Reviews and approves contractor's project schedule Ensures
directives / change orders and pay applications are work flowing in
timely manner to avoid contractor payment delays Arbitrates
directive negotiation conflicts between contractor and estimating
Responsible for performance management, performance counseling, and
talent development of direct reports. Leads and ensures the project
delivery systems are in place Manages a more complex and larger
team of personnel providing leadership, mentoring, coaching, and
guidance Basic qualifications 10 years of outside job-related
experience or 7-10 years WDI Construction Management / coordination
experience. Experience should be based on large-complex
Hotel/Resort or Theme Park projects. Strong Safety and Risk
Management training OSHA 30 Strong experience in quality control
and quality assurance programs Excellent construction technical
skills Ability to lead, train, mentor, project teams Strong
experience with scheduling, CPM, P6, Last Planner-Pull Planning,
Earned Value, Resource Loading. estimating, budgeting, and quality
control Experience preparing professional bid packages- RFP to
General Contractors, Material testing. Ability to comfortably
communicate to project team, vendors, consultants and WDI/DPEP
partners Understanding of the Project Development process
Organization skills Task management Expanded computer proficiency
with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, BIM 360, Bluebeam, SAP and Outlook
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and
specifications Various GC Project Management Platforms Applicable
technical certifications related to job specific role Required
education A college degree in a WDI Core discipline such as
Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture is required.
Provide certifications earned with resume Master's Degree preferred
