The Opportunity :
The Maintenance Technician I position provides essential support for the operational maintenance and sanitation of campus in an effort to provide a safe, functional, clean, efficient and attractive living and learning environment. Then incumbent will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, providing service for and responding to requests from customers and staff.

Responsibilities:


Perform planned scheduled work or as assigned by the supervisor defined as preventive maintenance (PM). Planned work can be identified as part of the following skilled trades: Basic plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry. Maintains and replaces light bulbs, replaces filters and unclogs plumbing fixtures.


Conduct PM repair (PMR) which are repairs of defects found during a (PM or PDM).


Conduct corrective repairs in reaction to a user reporting issues to restore functionality.


Perform support work by assisting with work done by central shops, contractors, other zones and departments, or events on campus.


Perform routine work defined as recurring work that has no specific frequency and remains open for an explicit amount of time.


Complete work orders in timely manner and report any condition needing attention.
