We are seeking an experienced and detail oriented Chief Building
Engineer to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for
organizing and supervising our Facilities teams to include
maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry. The ideal candidate will
have familiarity with Life Safety Codes and AHCA regulatory
requirements for Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living
facilities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide
leadership to the campus Maintenance team.Provide leadership to the
Towers Housekeeping and Laundry teams.Monitors the delegation of
work orders to ensure maximizing departmental resources Manage
small capital construction projects as well as being hands on in
project participation Manage annual Maintenance budget.Understand
building support systems.Participate in monthly Safety Committee
meeting with other departments. Disseminate information to floor
safety persons and respond to needs of residents concerning
safety.Familiarization with Life Safety Codes, AHCA regulatory
guidelines regarding facility maintenance, schedules, upkeep and
inspection reviewsMust be able to read and understand
blueprintsResponsible for the overall maintenance of the facility.
Set up a preventive maintenance schedule and ensure that work is
being performed in accordance with the prevention maintenance
manual. Perform quality checks on work performed to ensure it is
completed in a professional manner.Maintain a stock level of
supplies, which are in keeping with routine maintenance. Obtain the
best possible pricing and delivery time frame.Performs other duties
as assigned which may includeRepresents the facility during ACHA
survey for dining and facilitiesMaintains ALF Administrators
License and works in that capacity as personnel issues warrant
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field, or a combination
of education and relevant experience. Five years of experience in a
supervisory position.Must have a minimum of three years of
maintenance supervision in health care facility of comparable size
and knowledge of life safety, local, state, and federal codes.Must
have a working knowledge in building maintenance, plumbing,
electrical, carpentry, mechanical, H.V.A.C. and structural
design.Must have a minimum of one-year experience in air
conditioning, heating, plumbing, mechanical and electric equipment
generally used in health care facilities.Must have valid driver's
license and meet requirements to be added to company auto
insuranceMust be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled,
elderly, and emotionally upset people.Willing to work beyond the
normal working hours, on weekends, and in other positions
temporarily, when necessary.Must function independently, have
flexibility, personal integrity, tact, and the ability to work
effectively with residents, staff, and visitors.
