WellMed at Dr. Phillips has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented -Associate Patient Care Coordinator -to join our team. -
Associate Patient Care Coordinator supports the care team and its patients by greeting and checking in patients, scheduling appointments, answering telephone inquiries, collecting payments and maintaining demographic information. Routinely use the practice management system (PM) and electronic health record (EHR) according to office policies and workflows.
Schedule: It is a 40-hour work to be determined by the supervisor between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and rotating Saturday schedule from 8:00 am to noon.

Primary Responsibilities:

Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait time
Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documents
Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
Processes walk-in patients and visitors
Answers phones and schedules appointments
Answer telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages as needed
Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)
Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
Performs all other related duties as assigned

High School Diploma/ GED (or higher)
2+ years of customer service experience with strong communication skills both in person and via phone
Intermediate computer proficiency (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)

Preferred Qualification:

1+ years of related medical office experience, including data entry
Prior experience with EMR computer applications
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Bilingual (Spanish/English)

If the hired individual resides in Florida (office based or telecommuting) this position requires the AHCA Level II background check (fingerprinting) by the State of Florida for all clinicians that have direct face to face contact with members OR employees who will have access to confidential patient data and will require renewal every five years.
