Job Description:

Position: Azure Data Architect
Location: Orlando, FL (hybrid)
Duration: Long Term Contract


Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Working on building their NextGen data platform-- dictate how data flows within the org
  
• Need someone with hand one experience building and implementing a data platform
  
• Have several (a dozen or so) data sources-- used through various departments
  
• Off the shelf apps
  
• Everything utilizes this data
  
• Working on a consolidation strategy for data throughout the org
  
  Need/Must haves (NOTES I TOOK WHILE ON THE PHONE WITH THE MANAGER - REMINDER THESE ARE MY NOTES - NOT THE JOB DESCRIPTION)
  
  
  • 
    
  • SQL experience, SQL Server, knowledge of NoSQL and when to utilize it vs relational models
    
  • Azure is preferred-- Data lake, Data bricks
    
  • Building DWH experience
    
  • Strategic and hands on mind sets-- 50/50
    
  • Utilizing Vision to draw things up
    
    Nice to have:
    
    
    • 
      
    • Snowflake-- or similar
      
    • AWS-- if no Azure
      
    • Property management/commercial real estate experience
      
    • From a high level implement strategy
      
    • SQL
      
    • How does data move from one place to another, service bus, etc.
      
    • Snowflake would be beneficial (Snowflake or systems like it would be helpful-- might be moving here)
      
    • Building DWH-- super important
      
    • Get into Visio and draw things up is going to be extremely important here
      
    • Architect
      
    • Need to be willing/eager to get their hands dirty, along with strategy/advisory background
      
    • 50% hands on vs. 50% strategic work
      
    • Want to stay away from anyone who has been really hands off
      
    • The majority of what they do is within Azure-- helpful here
      
    • Data lake/Data bricks because of Azure
      
    • Data modeling experience is going to be very important-- will be doing this hands on
      
    • NoSQL
      
    • Where it makes sense to use this vs. relational models
      
    • Not only conceive the designs but also implement them
      
      Certifications
      
      
      • 
        
      • Azure and TOGAF-- these are high preferences
