With services including payroll, medical and voluntary benefits, workers' compensation, risk management and HR administration, Vensure companies support a broad spectrum of industries, allowing small business owners to cost-effectively manage HR functions and turn their attention to growth and profitability initiatives.Position SummaryThe Underwriting Assistant will perform front end underwriting duties and analytics for the Underwriting Department requiring high degree of integrity, business acumen and knowledge of the organization and its business and legal policiesEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Provide front-end Workers' Compensation submission processing including but not limited to:--- Utilizing internal underwriting applications and guidelines for preliminary pricing,--- Review and evaluate submissions for completeness,--- Work with Marketing General Agents (MGA) to obtain any missing or incomplete information, and--- Maintain underwriting pipeline reporting.--- Process New Class Code Requests for Clients.--- Act as a liaison between Underwriting and Clients.--- Workers' Compensation classification research and assignments.--- Quote classification rates upon Client's request.--- Process Loss Run Requests upon Client's request.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesComputer skills required.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.Ability to read and interpret documents.Ability to type routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively and respectfully with all contacts.Ability to perform basic math and compute rate, ratio, and percentages.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in all forms.Ability to deal with problems involving fixed variables in standardized situations.Ability to work under direction.Strong work ethic required.Education & ExperienceHigh School diploma acceptable, some college preferred.Familiarity with office environment preferred.
