through Friday-10 hours/day)**Lockheed Martin is experiencing
growth at our campus in Orlando, FL. We are seeking an optical
operator to join our team! We utilize the latest capabilities in
precision optical manufacturing to produce some of the world's most
advanced weapon and sensor technology. You will work under general
direction and from manufacturing process plans, engineering
drawings, and specifications to perform a wide variety of complex
optical fabrication processes including optical grinding and
polishing. In addition you will complete measurements, data
collection, and documentation required to verify compliance to
optical MIL specifications using optical and mechanical measuring
devices such as interferometers, gauges, and microscopes to
evaluate optical components. Lockheed Martin supports a variety of
alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our
employees and management. Schedules range from standard 40 hours
over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These
condensed schedules provide employees with additional day(s) away
from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Employee will be required to work multiple shifts and schedules per
the UAW Collective Bargaining Agreement. Please consider joining

team!MFC22Basic Qualifications:Must have the ability to work 1st,
2nd or 3rd shift in accordance with the collective bargaining
agreementExperience with mechanical/optical evaluationExperience
with handling optical materialsThe ability to use hand tools and
precision machining tools effectively is required. The ability to
read schematics and engineering drawings is required. The ability
to test parts to ensure they meet finished specifications is
required. A mechanical aptitude is required which is sufficient to
perform this role effectively.The ability to work effectively in a
team environment is required.Desired Skills:Experience with optical
alignment is desired. Experience with lasers, imaging systems,
optical metrology is desired. Experience with interferometers and
spectrometers is desired. Experience working as a machinist with
CNC machines is desired. Familiarity with troubleshooting
irregularity and surface requirements is desired. Prior experience
with optics at the technician level is strongly desired but not
required. Familiarity with the following items is desired: optical
elements, lenses, rough and finish grind flats, prisms, mirrors,
shop aids, test plates, and special shaped elements.Experience with
controlling contours, thickness wedge and surface
quality.Experience with MIL-PRF-13830B and other related Optical
MIL specifications is desiredClearance Level: None Other Important
