Job Description
A Designer at Westgate Resorts contributes to Westgate Resorts success by supporting design process to create outstanding timeshare and resorts' amenities designs that uphold the Westgate Customer Experience. Candidates must possess at least 3 years of proven professional success in interior or architectural design. The Designer will be responsible for production of design and documentation for interior and architectural designs. The process is inclusive of all phases of design from schematic through construction documents and administration. Candidates must be eager and motivated to learn in a fast-paced environment while committing to Westgate Resorts culture and values. -

  • Work EthicESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Produces design, provides clear, effective, and timely communication of design direction and changes to internal designers and external consultants. Identifies exceptions, proposes, and implements design solutions.
    • Contributes to studio team goals by achieving target deliverables on number of projects and meeting all established deadlines.
    • Contributes to Designs within parameters of individual project budgets and market requirements with alignment from cross-functional teams
    • Produces design documentation to support design intent including schematic drawings and finish palettes.
    • Assists in coordination of production of construction documents by internal and external designers and consultants. Work with team for the integrity and quality of the construction documents inclusive of design intent, detailing, code requirements, scheduling, and MEPs.
    • Participates in the architectural design process by reviewing and analyzing project documentation.
    • Participates in schematic reviews with Director of Design & Architecture and cross-functional teams.
    • Contribute to team culture with Westgate core values in mind.
    • Must comply with all CFI policies and procedures.
    • Must represent Westgate Resorts in a professional manner through appearance, dress, and professional behavior at all times, as dictated in the Associate's Handbook.
    • Must work diligently to gain knowledge and experience to execute the role to its full potential.
    • Other duties as assigned by leadership.
      Qualifications
      • Hospitality, Retail/F&B, Entertainment, Timeshare and/or Residential Professional Design Experience
      • Experience in all phases of design from Schematic to Construction Documentation
      • Basic knowledge of FFE and/or Architectural SpecificationEducation & Certifications:
        • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture
        • Working towards NCIDQ and/or NCARB licensing
        • Legally able to work in the United StatesSkills/Knowledge:
          • BIM/Revit professional experience required (3-5 years)
          • AutoCAD professional experience required (3-5 years)
          • 3D/Visualization professional experience required (3-5 years)
          • Adobe software including but not limited to: Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator (3-5 years)
          • Microsoft Office (3-5 years)
          • Basic knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and professional specifications.
          • Good graphic design, presentation, verbal and written skills to effectively communicate design ideas.
          • Proficient knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements.
          • Hand Drafting/sketchingSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES N/APHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties related to this position, the team member will regularly visit construction sites. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while adhering to all safety requirements.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.REASONING ABILITIESAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe majority of the work involved in this position will be conducted from an office or other field office. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Team member must be willing to travel.
