Immediate Hire Job descriptionThe Program Coordinator offers
assistance and support to the educational and administrative
processes of a department or an academic program. Their main tasks
will be concentrated in five main areas: Teaching, Student
Retention, Curriculum, Accreditation and Learning Assessment
Processes. This position is responsible for teaching a minimum of
two classes per quarter via lectures and demonstrations in the
classroom, laboratory setting, blended or online according to
program objectives and course syllabi. The work schedule will be
agreed with the Dean of Academic Affairs, according to the
institutional needs. The Program Coordinator develops daily lesson
plans as teaching guidelines, based upon the approved curriculum,
that are submitted to the Dean of Academic Affairs prior the
beginning of each term. Retention of students are monitored daily
and will be contacted the same day. The Program Coordinator is a
full-time exempt employee and directly accountable to the Program
Director or Dean of Academic Affairs.Essential duties and
responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual program outcomes including
but not limited to retention, placement, certifications, monthly
benchmarks and annual goals.
- Monitor daily student attendance within the program, provide
necessary measures to ensure high daily attendance and
retention.
- Monitor the daily contact of absent students by instructor in
program
- Prepare, plan and teach a minimum of two classes per quarter,
offered in a selected modality by adhering to instructor guidelines
as described in the FTC Faculty Handbook
- Provide active support to the college administration (Program
Director or Dean of Academic Affairs) to help achieve the goals and
objectives of the college.
- Assist with the hiring process of instructor(s) for
program
- Ensures program operations, personnel, facilities and
curriculum are in compliance with state, accreditation and
programmatic regulatory bodies.
- Assist Academic Department with New Faculty Orientation,
Training Sessions, classroom observations and monthly instructor
class assignments.
- Recommend all field trips, guest speakers and other
informational, or industry current events to Program Director
- Responsible for active student participation in monthly Student
Surveys for program
- Collaborate and participate in all relative program Advisory
Board Meetings
- Maintain an inventory of supplies, equipment and resources for
program and process orders as needed.
- Conduct one program meeting with faculty per month to review
curriculum, retention and program outcomes and assessments
- Attend and participate in all campus meetings, faculty
meetings, department meetings and Regional Academics training and
meetings including the Curriculum and Assessment Committee
meetings.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Mentoring)Qualifications/Education:
- Minimum Requirements:
- Must possess a Journeyman Electrician's license or
certificate
- prior supervisory experience a plus
- Have completed a post secondary training earning a diploma or
certificate plus 1 year of work experience at minimum OR for if
formal education documentation isn't available a minimum of 3 years
of work experience in a residential, commercial, or industrial
position.
- At a minimum 2+ years teaching experience preferred
- Preferred but not required, NCCER, OSHA-10 certification
- Ability to work extended hours (which will include evenings and
weekends) in order to meet business objectivesAcademic programs are
available on a monthly basis.
