DevelopmentSummary/Objective The Development Officer is responsible
for creating and managing fundraising projects and plans to support
Habitat for Humanity Orlando & Osceola's fundraising goals. The
Development Officer is responsible for stewarding and growing a
portfolio of individual and corporate donors. The Development
Officer's main role is to involve our investors in our mission as
it is meaningful to them while securing the funding to meet the
organizations fiscal fundraising goals. These responsibilities
include developing a donor stewardship plan and assisting the
department with the implementation of that plan.Essential Functions
1. Responsible for a portfolio of 150+ individual and corporate
donors and prospects2. Identify and qualify new prospective donors
and corporate funding 3. Have a clear understanding of the
organizational financial goals monthly and annually4. Effectively
and passionately communicate our mission and outcomes to donors5.
Create and execute personalized stewardship plans6. Develop and
implement key processes for donor stewardship, giving campaigns and
communication activities 7. Oversee and optimize donation
processing, reporting and database management8. Assist to
coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual direct mail campaigns,
increasing direct mail output9. Coordinate third-party events,
internal agency events and assist with volunteer activities
throughout the year10. Analyze fundraising reports and present data
to development staff to influence fundraising activities11. Have a
clear understanding of philanthropic solicitation and cultivation
of both corporate and individual donors and prospective
donorsCompetencies 1. Passionate about the Habitat for Humanity
mission and purpose 2. Ability to function effectively with a
minimum of daily direction and support. 3. Can solve problems and
make decisions independently in a creative and effective manner 4.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 5. Ability to work directly
with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic
backgrounds6. Knowledge of the MOVES management system7. Ability to
work independently as well as in a team8. Have strong knowledge of
fundraising best practices 9. Outstanding presentation skills10.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills11. Must adhere
to the highest ethical standards and convey sensitivity to the
needs of donors12. High energy and the ability to function
effectively with a minimum of daily direction and support. Can
solve problems and make decisions independently in a creative and
effective manner. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no
supervisory responsibility.Work Environment This job operates in a
professional office environment or at various event sites. This
role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers,
phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This
position may require working in various weather conditions.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are
representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This
position requires extended periods of sitting and standing. The
employee must also occasionally lift and move up to 25
pounds.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time,
salaried position and hours of work and days are Monday through
Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some early mornings, evenings and weekends
may be required.Travel Travel, if any, is primarily local during
the business hours and mileage is reimbursed. Required Education
and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Nonprofit Management or related
field Two years' experience fundraising with a nonprofit
organization Knowledge of Customer Relations Management system,
Salesforce is preferredMust obtain Anti-Money Laundering
certificate within first 90 days: training provided by HabitatMust
exhibit strong fiscal responsibility; requires credit checkOther
