Job Description
You'll be joining a people-focused company and an innovative
Education team in Customer Success. As an Instructional Designer
with Vendavo, you will be responsible for:
- Empowering customers through self-paced/on-demand learning
modules, courseware, and learning pathways that advance our
customers' goals, while increasing adoption of our solutions and
driving deeper product usage.
- Designing and creating eLearning modules such as feature demos,
applied tutorials, step-by-step guides, workshop presentations,
hands-on exercises, knowledge assessments, learner surveys, and
other instructional materials that can combined and recombined into
different online courses and pathways.
- Curating eLearning experiences from available digital content
(e.g., recorded trainings, webinars, case studies, infographics,
etc.) created by yourself, your teammates, and by colleagues from
other teams, like Consulting and Marketing.
- Analyzing and evaluating instructional needs of product users
to inform learning outcomes, course objectives, experience
requirements, and assessment criteria.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts across Engineering,
Consulting, Technical Documentation, and Product Management to gain
a detailed understanding of solutions, as well as business
processes and best practices.
- Measuring the effectiveness of eLearning with surveys, and then
making modifications to ensure we are meeting our intended
objectives and continually improving our customer learning
experiences.
- Validating proficiency levels of people who use our software,
through scaffolded eLearning modules and through the development of
targeted assessments (knowledge- and performance-based) that can
lead to credentialing/badging.
- Maintaining the lifecycle of eLearning by following regular
software releases, including revising eLearning, editing video and
text, while curating and recombining modules, as needed, and
recommending content to be archived or repurposed.
- Supporting our live instructor-led courses with a library of
modular eLearning content and curriculum materials that can be
repackaged for virtual and hybrid instruction.
- Anticipating and planning for eLearning opportunities that
delight customers and inform our Customer Education team strategy,
processes, and offerings.
Qualifications
- Experienced instructional designer: Five years of professional
experience in learner needs analysis, curriculum design, online
course development and asset production, while adhering to best
practices such as ADDIE, as well other pedagogical approaches to
ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG, 508) and learning
effectiveness (e.g., Kirkpatrick model) within a digital
environment.
- Inspiring translator of all things technical: Ability to
convert technical or scientific applications into plain language
that customers can understand and appreciate-to create those
"lightbulb moments" with learners. Exceptional written and oral
communication skills.
- Detail-oriented creativity: Ability to work within our brand
and style guidelines to create accurate, complete, and compelling
multimedia learning experiences.
- Powerful collaborator and team player: Proven experience
working effectively across globally distributed teams, and with
different customers (executives, admins, managers, and end-users)
from across a variety of industry segments. Excellent listening and
critical thinking skills, with the ability to diplomatically
address areas of perceived disagreement.
- Responsive and responsible: Ability to evolve learning
experiences based on input and insights from across a group of
internal stakeholders and customers, without sacrificing the
quality or integrity of our learning offering.
- Organized self-starter and project manager: Requiring minimal
supervision in a fast-paced, constantly changing software
environment.
- Adept with technical tools of the trade: Solid experience in
course development platforms such as Articulate/Rise, video
production software such as Camtasia, as well as Microsoft
Applications, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint. Familiarity
with Learning Management Systems is preferred. Graphic design and
video editing experience is preferred (Adobe Creative Suite).
Experience in creating video animations and interactive eLearning
is a plus.
- Credentials: Degree in Education, English, Communications, or
related areas of study is required. Professional certificate or
formal education in adult education/instructional design/learning
science is preferred.
- Familiarity with high-tech audiences: professional experience
working directly with SaaS customers is preferred.
