Our culture is one that rewards performance and each interaction we have with a customer furthers our mission to be the global leader in respiratory care.The Principal Data Scientist will work with key leaders to extract insight from complex clinical, translational and real-world data. Youll have the opportunity to work on complex data science problems including modeling techniques to interpret, infer and recommend based on insights from data to achieve Vyaires objectives, youll provide out-of-the-box thinking to develop innovative clinical study designs, quantitative decision making and the incorporation of evidence from disparate sources of big data. Critical deliverables include the design and formulation of statistical methodologies and input that ensure quality and consistency of key data deliverables across studies.You will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for collaborating with cross functional teams, including but not limited to, clinicians, data scientist, translational medicine scientist, statisticians, and IT professionals.
  • Manipulate, summarize and analyze clinical trial data using a variety of statistical methods
  • Formulates, implements, tests, and validates predictive models and implements efficient automated processes for producing modeling results at scale.
  • Assess data availability, identify data gaps, and limitations and collaborate with data team to develop approaches in closing gaps.
  • Proactively builds partnerships with specialist functions and global counterparts to maximize knowledge and available resources.
  • Analyze and model structured, and unstructured data using advanced statistical methods and implement algorithms and software needed to perform analyses.
  • Ability to perform one or more core domain skills: machine leaning, artificial intelligence, and statistical methods such as classification, association rules, time series analysis, statistical inference and validation methods.
  • Manages and coordinates limited resources to produce quality deliverables within timelines for competing priorities.
  • Acts as a resource/mentor to study team members - both internally and externally
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in, data mining, data analytics, and data management.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Proactively builds partnerships with specialist functions and global counterparts to maximize knowledge and available resources.
  • Provide functional excellence in the areas of statistics, data analysis and data processing for the department.You will have the opportunity to:
    • Be an integral member of development team responsible for supporting claims development, promoting product differentiators, and advanced analytics.
    • Propose new ideas and recommend implementation plans leading to enhanced efficiencies and faster review and analysis of data.
    • Demonstrate experience of applying statistical methods in biomedical research, pharmaceutical, medical device or CRO experience.
    • Clearly understand scientific questions and formulate statistical and data-analytic methods to provide solutions to novel problems.
    • Work independently and in project teams to deliver required solutions.Qualifications:
      • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, mathematics, statistics, epidemiology, health economics or related degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience with data science OR
      • PhD or MS degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, mathematics, statistics, epidemiology, health economics or related degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience with data science
      • 3+ years of Data Engineering Experience to wrangle data for pre-processing using programming languages like Python (different modules to visualize and analyze data to improve feature engineering), R etc.
      • Experience with deep neural networks (CNN, RNN) implementation using Python packages Tensorflow, Pytorch or expertise in SAS and R.
      • 5+ years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical is preferred but not required
      • Good knowledge of ICH GCP guidelines, FDA regulations and demonstrated experience with pharma and/or medical device clinical trials and FDA/NDA submissions is required.
