    • Represent the Department to Senior Administration
    • Identifies appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences
    • Participates in student scholarly activities
    • Designs, coordinates, and implements program curriculum
    • Develops, designs, and delivers instruction in courses
    • Participates in student advising and mentorship
    • Actively engages in the institution---s committees as assigned by the President
    • Engages in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship, and research
    • Maintenance of accreditation
    • Assumes other duties as assigned Compliance/Regulatory Responsibility:
      • Develops the curriculum in harmony with the institution, the community, and professional accreditation agencies
      • Develops, reviews and updates department policies and procedures
      • Documents, reviews, and maintains current faculty, clinical liaison, staff, student, and clinical affiliation records for the Department
      • Documents and maintains current student clinical and/or didactic experiences
      • Guides University faculty to ensure program meets all requirements of accreditation Operating & Capital Budget/Financial Responsibility:
        • Develops and maintains department budget that assures adequate resources to support faculty
        • Seeks and applies for internal and/or external sources of funding for the department and/or students Strategic Planning Responsibility:
          • Determines departmental vision and strategic plan in accordance with the institution---s mission and vision Performance Improvement Responsibility:
            • Maintains involvement in professional organizations
            • Develops improvement plans for the department, faculty, staff, and students to improve performance, as indicated by assessment results Community Relations Responsibility:
              • Exhibits and models the characteristics of a Christian professional
              • Participates in program and University-wide service activities Staffing/Labor/Supervisory Responsibility:
                • Human resource management to ensure excellence in teaching for students
                • Manages selection, evaluation, and mentorship of department faculty and staff
                • Oversees all course instruction, department technology, and employee scheduling QualificationsWhat You Will Need: KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
                  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

                  • Effective communication skills with University administration, faculty, staff, and others internal and external to the University
                  • Organizational and administrative skills
                  • Effectively use computer programs related to educational duties which includes, but is not limited to, word processing, database management, complex data computation, analysis and graphics, presentation development, and distance learning technology; visual and auditory skills to use computer and other presentation equipment, including telecommunications
                  • Cooperatively work as a team member
                  • Self-directed
                  • Effective writing skills
                  • Ability to consult as necessary
                    • Membership in Florida Academy of Physician Assistants
                    • Membership in Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) Knowledge & Skills Preferred:
                      • Teaching expertise EDUCATION REQUIRED:
                        • Earned Doctoral degree EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
                          • Five years of clinical experience as a physician assistant LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
                            • Current Physician Assistant licensure in State of Florida--
                              • Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification Job Summary: -- Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The Department Chair manages the program including hiring, managing the department---s budget, overseeing accreditation requirements, representing the department at the institution level, and providing mentorship and leadership to staff and faculty. The Department Chair develops, designs, and delivers instruction in courses as needed.-- The Department Chair also participates in student advising and mentoring, and engages in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship, and research in balance with their administrative duties. The Department Chair reviews and assists with revisions as needed for department policies and procedures and identifies and recommends appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences.
