The Pharmacy Operations Specialist is a Licensed Practical Nurse
(LPN) who is responsible for supporting the Senior Pharmacy
Operations Specialist in providing oversight of the organization's
pharmacy operations. This position will report to the Director of
Pharmacy Compliance. This position plans and conducts monitoring,
auditing, and assesses compliance with applicable regulations,
including, but not limited to DEA and other regulatory
This position provides feedback, education, and training on the
results of auditing and monitors. The individual is also
responsible for carrying out the requirements and elements of an
effective compliance program and enforcing HIPAA Privacy
requirements. The individual is responsible for identifying risks
and trends and supporting the organization operationally in
developing efficient and effective internal controls.
Manage and review of inventories and reporting to ensure clinic
compliance with internal and external standards, such as those set
by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Review and approval of online medication orders.
Maintenance of the virtual DEA clinic binders.
Training regarding pharmacy reports, the process for online
inventory ordering procedures, the process for completing the DEA
Controlled substance order form (DEA 222) for schedule 1 and 2
controlled substances, and other internal pharmacy-related
Perform Power of Attorney processes.
Perform mock DEA audits within the clinics to assess
Gather and analyze data to identify trends and focus areas for
Attend required onsite and remote meetings and training, as

presentation of compliance training programs.
Utilizing a complete understanding of the audit process,
circumstances, and risk, prepare sound audit conclusion reports for
use in improving documentation.
Prepare clear, concise audit findings and reports.
Ensure adherence at all times to all applicable department and
professional standards, to include Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy & Security
Prepare accurate responses to questions regarding the audit
findings and report.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of
Pharmacy Compliance, the Compliance Officer and/or other members of
the Executive Leadership Team.
