Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery was founded by Dr. Matt L. Leavitt in 1989. Upon completing his Dermatology Residency, he established a solo dermatology practice in Orlando, FL. Within a few months, Dr. Leavitt had established three small part-time offices. This beginning formed the foundation of the largest dermatology practice in the country with approximately 150 locations. We are committed to providing comprehensive and unparalleled dermatologic care in a welcoming and engaging environment. We seek to make each patient experience unique by combining superior patient safety and privacy standards in treating dermatologic and cosmetic concerns. We strive to combine the best of the art of medicine with the latest advances in research and technology in formulating individualized treatment plans to achieve a unique, desired, and aesthetically pleasing result.

Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery is financially backed by Harvest Partners, a New York based Private Equity Firm. The company is in high-growth mode with both an aggressive M&A growth strategy as well as organic growth strategy identifying new revenue streams. Harvest Partners and Advanced Dermatology are targeting a 20-30% growth rate over the next several years.

Advanced Dermatology is looking for a Controller to oversee all accounting and treasury essential duties and responsibilities. The Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the external accounting and M&A partners.

The Controller plans, directs, and coordinates accounting operational functions for the company. Using effective communication, technology, analytical, and management skills, the person in this role manages staff and facilitates the provision of information about company business and activities to assist management and other stakeholders in making sound economic decisions. The Controller must be knowledgeable in all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Plans, directs, and coordinates all accounting operational functions

Manages the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

Oversees accurate and timely dissemination of financial reports; coordinates and prepares internal and external financial statements

Prepares pro forma financial statements in compliance with debt covenants

Prepares debt covenant compliance certificates

Coordinates activities of external auditors

Supports reporting requirements of the private equity owners

Provides information vital to the decision-making process to management

Assists FP&A with preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Assesses current accounting operations, as well as accounting and internal control systems, and offers recommendations for improvement and implementation of new processes.

Evaluates the effectiveness of accounting software as needed

Develops and monitors business performance metrics

Oversees regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance

Oversees activities of external tax advisors

Responsible for the management of department staff, including interviewing, hiring, and training

Oversees all disbursements, accounts payable, purchase orders, expense reports, treasury, inventory management, cash control, tax compliance, payroll functions and provider compensation

Responsible for all Treasury functions including bank relationships, creditor relationships, cash management and cash forecasting

Assures corporate income tax compliance for accuracy and timely completion of returns

Oversees all aspects of payroll, including filing and payment of payroll taxes

Oversees the integration of acquisitions into the Finance process

Establishes and maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data

Responds as assigned with accurate and timely information to facilitate the work of the CFO

Participates in a wide variety of special projects

Assures compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures

May perform other duties or special projects as required or assigned


Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

Masters degree or MBA is preferred
Bachelors degree

15 years of hands-on accounting managerial experience

Experience within multi-site healthcare platform strongly preferred

Knowledge and the ability to implement all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Implementation and oversight of financial systems related to AP and Payroll

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to effectively oversee and manage staff, including completion of compliance requirements and adherence to the Code of Conduct

Ability to communicate professionally and succinctly with internal and external customers at all levels, including leadership and other senior stakeholders, adjusting for optimal understanding as needed

Ability to multi-task and successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously

Ability to exhibit self-motivation and drive results

Knowledge of accepted business analysis practices and organizational standards, and the ability to use this knowledge in the performance of all job duties

Ability to write reports and professionally reply to correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

Must be able to work efficiently under high pressure and effectively resolve conflicts/issues as they arise

Project a professional manner and image, including proper workplace appearance, attire, and grooming standards; always exhibit professional conduct.

Treat all internal and external customers with respect, compassion, and empathy, recognizing and respecting cultural diversity
