Job Description:

The Assistant Director's primary role is to provide oversight of the day-to-day operations of Pathways to Care (PTC) in coordination with the PTC Director. Oversight of daily operations of the assisted living facility includes, but is not limited to: the delivery of resident care that promotes the dignity, independence, self-determination and privacy of each resident; upholding State of Florida, Agency for Healthcare Administration and other governmental entities standards and regulations; promoting the philosophy, policies and protocols of the facility and Catholic Charities; making sound financial decisions; and representing PTC with stakeholders as needed. The Assistant Director will recruit qualified staff to provide efficient and effective delivery of high-quality services for previously homeless men and women. The Assistant Director is required to provide on-call hours and may be required to work weekends and holidays. Essential duties and responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned: General functions: Have full knowledge of and comply with all applicable rules and regulations for the operation of a State of Florida licensed Assisted Living Facility. Ensure the delivery of appropriate, quality care for residents, meeting and/or exceeding all staffing standards per AHCA requirements. Respond to all requests for inspection from regulating entities. Be on site and point of contact for inspections and monitoring. Follow up timely with any corrective measures required. Maintain confidentiality of health and other resident information, following all HIPAA guidelines. Recruit and oversee training of new staff. Review staff performance and lead efforts to promote high morale among staff. Produce and maintain all required reports and documentation for licensure, regulations, grant and contract obligations. Respond to emergencies timely with strong direction and leadership. Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure it is safe from potential hazards. Prepare and submit AHCA licensure re-certifications. Work closely with referring agency leaders to build and maintain successful partnerships. Make sound financial decisions and work closely with Catholic Charities finance staff on budgeting, expense control and fiscal reporting. Represent and speak on behalf of the facility and Catholic Charities with stakeholders during tours and in community settings. Coordinate with Catholic Charities fund development/grant writing staff to secure program funding. Interact with board, supporting their efforts and attending applicable board and committee meetings. Maintain CPR and First Aid certification. Support marketing, outreach and fundraising efforts. Maintain resident and personnel records onsite as required by AHCA. Intervene when needed to resolve resident issues including responding to disruptive behavior and unplanned discharges. Receive Mental Health First Aid and De-escalation trainings. Complete payroll approvals timely. Requirements Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, healthcare administration or related field. Prefer experience working in Assisted Living Facility including certification as an Administrator. Must have three or more years of staff supervision experience. Well versed in Agency for Healthcare Administration licensure requirements. Have experience working with government entities such as the Department of Health and Emergency Management, including monitoring. Strong background in financial management and leadership. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Windows, Adobe Acrobat, Excel as well as, experienced in researching and compiling data from the internet. Must be proficient in communication media technology. Must be flexible with regard to work hours and responsibilities. Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese.
