Quality Control SpecialistUCF Area, Orlando, FloridaJob DescriptionThe Quality Control Specialist is a cross-functional, key member of our operations team. The Specialist will work closely with key members of the supply chain, product development, marketing, and sales to ensure and advance the quality function of Zesty Paws. The specialist will be solely responsible for determining what active ingredient are testable (and why or why not), identifying the best testing method, ordering testing from the 3rd party testing lab and interpreting the results.Responsibilities

• Submits all lab test requests to 3rd party lab.
• Understanding of testing lab requirements, test methods, acceptable ranges.
• Knowledge of USP testing methods (and other compendia/sources).
• Knowledge of where to find/research testing methods and choose best method for our products.
• Ability to understand guidance specifications to set forth a recommendation for our internal specifications.
• Ability to conclude why an ingredient can or cannot be tested in finished product.
• Experience reviewing 3rd party COAs to interpret results and determine if the product meets specifications.
• Responsible for timely and efficient release and cross-functional communication of release for all finished products.
• Knowledge of cGMPs, 21 CFR Parts 11, 111, 117, and 507.
• Assists with writing Corrective and preventative action procedures (CAPAs).
• Investigate & Monitor open CAPA's for timely review/closure.
• Manage and lead all Out of Specification (OOS) investigations.
• Works with Customer Service to monitor customer complaints and adverse event and initiate investigations as needed.
• Experience authoring or reviewing finished product, raw material, packaging, and any other product specific specifications.
• Oversees collection of retains samples and monitors retain room to ensure compliance with cGMPs.
• Understands the concept of stability program, protocols, long-term testing for analysis.
  Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy or Biology.
  • At least one year of direct experience setting internal testing specifications and testing products at a 3rd party testing lab.
  • At least one year of direct experience review COAs and releasing products.
  • One year of direct experience in the dietary supplement industry with experience in at least one of the following: 21 CFR Parts 111, 117, and 507.

    • Bachelor's degree in Science, Chemistry or Engineering
    • One year of direct experience in the dietary supplement industry with 21 CFR 11, 21 CFR 111, and 21 CFR 117 experience
    • Energy and enthusiasm to develop processes from the ground up, drive and track tasks, and identify future improvement opportunities.
    • Experience with Pet supplements
    • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control
