A Pharmaceutical Company is seeking a Linux System Administrator in Orlando , FL/ Hybrid.

Role Description

Responsible for providing technical support within the team of Systems Administrators. Areas of support include but are not limited to; LINUX (RedHat) administration, shell scripting, Vmware administration, LINUX backup and recovery, server network configuration, logical volume management, LINUX clustering, hardware setup and troubleshooting, system log management, LINUX and Vmware patching and upgrading, LDAP, hardening of systems.
--- Installs and maintains operating systems and related software to ensure stable performance.
--- Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established policies and procedures.
--- Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
--- Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
--- Work with the backup administrator to ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
--- Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
--- Evaluates system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
--- Troubleshoots networking and operating systems problems.
--- Incorporate Information Security Best Practices in all aspects of Systems Management

Skills & Requirements
--- 3 years' experience in Linux administration and scripting.
--- 3 years' experience in Vmware administration.
--- Knowledge of VMware and LINUX (RedHat) operating environments, as well as exposure to industry products, terminology and trends.
--- Must possess strong knowledge of shell, scripting and system-level programming
--- Knowledge of networking setup and configuration
--- Knowledge of LDAP
--- Knowledge of LPAR, VIO, IVM, PowerHA and HMC management and configuration
--- Vmware Horizon is a plus
