Part Time Payroll Assistant



Established in 1891, The L.E. Myers Co. is recognized as a premier electrical contractor of large utility construction projects across the nation is currently seeking a temporary part time Payroll Assistant. This position will be based in the Sorrento, FL office and will work around 24 to 30 hours weekly. Candidate must work full days (eight hours) on Monday and Tuesday every week.

Payroll Assistant Duties:



Position will entail working in a busy office environment, with the need to multitask between various assignments efficiently. The ability to utilize time management skills to organize and complete assignments to meet deadlines will be necessary.



This position will have multiple responsibilities, some of which could include but not limited to:



* Review and enter time cards

* Process unemployment claims

* Prepare interim checks

* Calculate, edit, and print payroll checks or facilitate electronic fund transfer

* Prepare union reports

* Review reports and correct errors in a timely manner while communicating with employees and management

* Calculate deductions such as income tax withholding, Social Security payments, insurance, and union dues

* Immediately record changes to relevant payroll records, including with holdings

* Prepare accurate summary reports per pay period, as well as on a quarterly and annual basis

* Administer and process union employee new hire documentation

* Manage and maintain union employee files

* Regular and predictable attendance

* Cover receptionist duties to include answering phones and greeting visitors

* Assist with administrative tasks as needed

* Other duties as assigned

* Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable

* This position will be work out of a company office location







Qualifications:



* 2 or more years of payroll experience

* Associates degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business related field helpful

* Experience working within a construction environment highly desirable

* Experience working with union payroll highly desirable

* Working knowledge of Oracle systems to include E-1 payroll systems is preferred

* Ability to work with internet based programs for research and data processing

* Knowledge of working with workman's comp helpful

* Proficiency within MS Suite to include Word and Excel

* Must be detail-oriented with exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal capabilities
