Responsibilities
University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health
Services, Inc. (UHS), is committed to providing intensive mental
health services to children, adolescents and adults as well as
detox and substance abuse programs for adults. Our mental health
facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist
individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The
facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando,
Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds.
The Nursing Supervisor provides administrative and clinical
supervision to all nursing staff throughout the hospital on
assigned shift. The Nursing Supervisor is a liaison to department
directors and administration to insure coordinated and efficient
operations of services and departments. The Nursing Supervisor
promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives
of University Behavioral Center.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual
must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in
this job description. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for
ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with
the established standards of care, mental health practice and
hospital policy, goals and objectives.
This is a Night Shift position
This position offers:
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of a nursing program required. BSN
Preferred.
Experience: Three years clinical experience with inpatient
behavioral health population and previous clinical supervisory role
in psychiatric setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the
State of Florida. BLS Provider certification through the American
Heart Association.
Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing
principles, working concepts and theory, leadership skills, age
specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior
management
