Hotel Front Desk Agent

Job Description:


The Front Desk Agent shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. He/she will be responsible for exemplifying the Hotel's Culture.
* Greet guests and customers with a friendly and courteous welcome. Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate action and provide accurate information such as restaurant and outlet hours including local attractions.
* Complete the check-in process by inputting and retrieving information.
* Confirming information regarding number of guests and room rate.
* Promote Marriott and the Company's sales and marketing programs.
* Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guests needs. Code electronic keys, and confirm the room number and rate.
* Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods. Handle cash, make change and balance an assigned house bank.
* Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts.
* Collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
* Ability to stand and move throughout front office and continuously perform essential job functions.
* Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
* Primarily responsible for responding to incoming calls in a timely and friendly manner and directing caller to appropriate destination. S/he often provides the first point of contact for guests and is responsible for creating an excellent first impression. Expedite all guest requests to pertaining departments in a timely and professional manner.
* Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
* Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
* Respond to guest inquiries and requests to resolves issues via telephone in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
* Monitors all alarms located in PBX and notifies appropriate personnel as required.
* Retrieve messages and communicate the content to guests and departments.

*Experience: *
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Hotel Marriott Front Desk experience preferred.
* Previous experience with FOSSE PMS is preferred.
* Must be able to work flexible shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
