Overview: Provide administrative support and structure for the delivery of professional nursing care in the Department of Nursing and Patient Services. Responsibilities: Accountable for strategic planning, implementation, evaluation, and revision of systems that support professional practice and achieve the nursing vision and organizational goals. Maintain 24-hour accountability for unit functions. Provide leadership to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration. Qualifications: Experience in the Emergency Department (ED) & managerial experience. Master's degree in nursing required or obtain degree within three years. National nursing board certification in specialty area required or obtain certification as contracted by the VP/AVP. Minimum of five years professional nursing practice experience required. Demonstrates leadership and management skills with knowledge and application of advanced professional nursing practice, CQI process, nursing care delivery models, health care delivery systems, and budgetary process.
