And there is a place for you at Legacy Pointe.ADON Position SummaryThe Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a critical leadership role in supporting the Director of Nursing in overseeing clinical operations, nursing staff performance, and regulatory compliance within the Skilled Nursing and Rehab Facility. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, person-centered care by coordinating daily nursing activities, supervising nurses and CNAs, supporting staffing and training efforts, and maintaining compliance with CMS, AHCA, OSHA, and state regulations. The ADON serves as a key liaison among nursing staff, leadership, residents, and families, fostering a collaborative environment grounded in accountability, professionalism, and clinical excellence.In addition, the ADON leads the facilitys Infection Prevention and Control Program, including surveillance, education, antibiotic stewardship, and outbreak response, while supporting survey readiness, QAPI initiatives, staff development, and emergency preparedness. This position provides backup leadership in the absence of the Director of Nursing, participates in on-call responsibilities, and plays an integral role in advancing resident outcomes, staff competency, and the overall quality and safety of care at Legacy Pointe at UCF.Qualifications and RequirementsActive Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida (required)Minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or universityBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredMinimum of two (2) years of nursing leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care (LTC), or acute care settingAt least two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare environmentInfection Prevention & Control Certification (CIC) preferred or willingness to obtainDemonstrated experience in staff education, training program development, and competency assessmentsStrong working knowledge of CMS, AHCA, OSHA, CDC, and state health regulationsExperience supporting survey readiness, audits, and regulatory inspectionsAbility to lead and supervise nursing staff, including performance management, coaching, and corrective actionsProficiency with electronic health record systems (PCC preferred) and Microsoft Windows applicationsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and leadershipDemonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate teams, manage priorities, and foster accountabilityAbility to work effectively with older adult and cognitively impaired populationsMust be able to work in a clinical environment, including exposure to ill residents, chemicals, and other healthcare-related conditionsPhysical ability to meet the demands of the role, including standing, walking, lifting, and assisting residents as requiredImportant Notice: Applicants for this position will be required to complete a background screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, per House Bill 531 (2025).
