Job Description Job Description Job Overview TELECOUNSELOR I Our
Organization For more than three decades, our organization has been
a prominent provider of outpatient treatment services, focusing on
delivering safe, high-quality care for individuals dealing with
Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). With over 70 treatment facilities across
various states, our dedicated team engages in medication-assisted
treatment, counseling, and comprehensive care management for those
affected by OUD. We adopt a holistic approach, addressing the root
causes of OUD to ensure a continuum of care that not only meets
treatment needs but also supports patients on their recovery
journey. We operate several nationally recognized and accredited
methadone treatment centers aimed at assisting individuals
struggling with prescription drug abuse and opiate addiction to
reclaim their lives. We take pride in treating our patients with
dignity and respect throughout their treatment process. We are
currently seeking a Telecounselor I to join our team and serve the
community. Position Summary: As a Telecounselor, you will provide
individual counseling services through a HIPAA-compliant video
platform to patients at our clinics nationwide. Remote work may be
an option, and you will need to follow a schedule based on clinic
assignments and patient requirements. You will collaborate with a
multidisciplinary treatment team, including the Medical Director,
Program Director, Treatment Services Coordinator, Counselors, and
Nurses, to assess and address the clinical needs of patients and
enhance their overall well-being. Key Responsibilities: Conduct
individual counseling sessions with assigned patients via video
communication. Educate patients on all aspects of their treatment,
related health issues, and recovery steps. Maintain a performance
standard of spending 50% of work hours in direct patient contact
each month. Complete necessary documentation, including
telecounseling screenings, psychosocial assessments, DAP notes,
individualized treatment plans, and reassessments, within specified
time frames. Assist patients with intake, admission, discharge, and
transfer paperwork as needed. Document patient progress and
complete required forms in the electronic health record and other
systems. Ensure file compliance according to policies and
procedures, making timely corrections as necessary. Identify
clinical and case management needs and work to address them.
Maintain communication with clinic leadership and support staff,
responding to emails within one business day and keeping an updated
shared calendar for patient scheduling. Report any instances of
patient abuse, neglect, or exploitation as required. Document
patient grievances as necessary. Coordinate Urine Drug Screens with
clinic liaisons and complete required documentation. Familiarize
yourself with the General, program, and state-specific Policy and
Procedures Manuals. Ensure compliance with 42 CFR Part 2 (Federal
Confidentiality Regulations) and 45 CFR, Parts 160 & 164 (HIPAA).
Obtain and maintain the necessary licensure and/or certification as
per state requirements and program needs. Participate in
preparations for surveys and inspections by CARF, the State, DEA,
Board of Pharmacy, and other regulatory agencies as required.
Attend all staff meetings and scheduled clinic treatment team
meetings. Engage in both individual and group supervision sessions
as scheduled. Comply with local, state, federal, and organizational
regulations and policies. Act in the best interests of the program
and organization, safeguarding proprietary data and rights. Perform
additional tasks as assigned by clinic, regional, or corporate
leadership. Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensure/Certification: Ideal candidates will possess a
Master’s degree in a Human Services-related field. It is preferred
that candidates hold a current independent counseling license
(LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of support at the
time of hire, with at least one year at the current license level.
However, consideration may be given to candidates who are
Registered Interns under active supervision and can obtain
unrestricted licensure within 90 days of hire. Experience Required:
Familiarity with Substance Abuse and/or Telecounseling Services is
preferred. Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills. Able to multitask, work independently,
prioritize effectively, and demonstrate reliability. Basic

licensed counselor in Utah, such as LCSW, LMFT, or CMHC.
