are hiring a Pharmacy Buyer that will be responsible for
maintaining appropriate inventory levels of all drugs/supplies
stocked. They will make major decisions in purchasing while
complying with budget limitations, and achieving a maximum
inventory turnover rate. This position will be located at our brand
new 375,000 sqft state-of-the-art facility on the Orlando Health
downtown campus with potential travel to the OHJOI ortho clinics in

Buyer will be working on-site at: Jewett Orthopedic Institute 62
Columbia Street Orlando, FL 32806 Responsibilities Assists in the
development and awarding of bids and contracts; determines most
cost effective vendor for daily pharmaceutical ordering. Oversees
receiving, storage, borrowing and return of medications. Accurately
prepares billing documentation for accounting; maintains data files
on all negotiated contracts, purchase orders, invoices and
receivers. Performs the basic buyer procedures required by the
assigned area and consistent with Orlando Health policy and
procedures. Locates manufacturer "back order" and "temporary out"
items from most cost effective vendors, and keeps staff informed.
Responsible for preparing expense reports when requested.
Demonstrates knowledge and functionality of wholesaler and Lawson
computer systems. Responsible for end of month transfer process.
Functions as a Pharmacy technician when required. Coordinates
disposal of all expired medications. Evaluates all non-formulary
requests before bringing a non-formulary item into their facility.
Maintains and replenishes 340B inventory separately from regular
inventory. Maintains invoicing for all drug and supply accounts.
Maintains database and paperwork on all medication recalls.
Prepares department for annual inventory updating shelf labels,
inventory supply forms, and databases as needed. Is the overall
coordinator/manager of the annual inventory process which includes
the review of the inventory for errors and completion of the
inventory including but not limited to all necessary paperwork and
spreadsheets. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance
consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other
federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all
Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions
Networks with other Pharmacy buyers, managers, vendors, local
hospitals, and pharmaceutical sales representatives. Attends
meetings and in-services. Assumes the responsibility for
professional growth and development. Completes all mandatory
education required by Orlando Health. Functions as back up to
Controlled Substance Specialist, Pyxis System Specialist, and
Pharmacy Regulatory Compliance Specialist when required.
Qualifications Education/Training High School diploma or equivalent
required. Licensure/Certification Must be currently registered with
the Florida State Board of Pharmacy, renewed every two years.
