Registered Nurse, Clinical ObservationPosition Summary

The Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) Clinical Observation unit is a 40 bed multidiverse acuity unit which provides care for medsurg, observation, and progressive care level patients. Our patients are admitted from the emergency room or are direct admits (patients who go to the dr and the dr tells them to go immediately to the hospital). Our patients typically stay on our unit anywhere from eight to 48 hrs. We are a great unit for those seeking a fast-paced environment and frequently changing patient population.

The graduate nurse or experienced nurse administers patient care in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

Required Education:

* Associates or Bachelors in Science of Nursing.

Required Certifications and Licensures:

* Active FL RN license
* Also, a BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA). American Red Cross BLS will not be accepted.

Required Experience:

* None! No experience is required for this role. Graduate nurses and experienced nurses are all welcome to apply. Orlando Health will guide you in getting all the experience you need to be successful in your role as a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

* Assess patient's needs and develop individualized plans of care based on patient needs and responses.
* Evaluate the patient's progress toward attaining expected outcomes.
* Respects diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers.
* Functions as a patient and family advocate.
* Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/ or nurse clinician.
* Practices effective problem identification and resolution.

Additional Responsibilities include:

* Participate and may lead unit level and/or organizational level committees of nursing practice and performance improvement.
* Participates in department and organizational peer review, mentoring, and coaching regarding professional practice or role performance.
* Attends staff development in-services, department meetings, and/or nursing committee meetings.
* Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Education:
