SCHEDULE: Full-time

Central Florida Regional Hospital, a 221-bed acute care hospital and Level II trauma center, serves the communities of Seminole and west Volusia counties. The hospital provides the only full-service cardiovascular program in Seminole and west Volusia, including open heart surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation and comprehensive diagnostic services. Other specialized services include orthopedic and spine care, robotic surgery, wound care, acute inpatient medical rehabilitation, complete imaging services and The Baby Suites. ----Position Summary: --The VP of Quality is responsible for overseeing the duties/functions necessary to assure regulatory and accreditation compliance and advises the Hospital and Board on these issues. The VP of Quality is responsible for the coordination of regulatory survey and reporting activities within the organization, which would include staff compliance with patient safety goals and compliance with JCAHO, AHCA and CMS standards. The VP of Quality is responsible for developing and monitoring unit/department specific QA/PI plans, initiating appropriate action to improve outcomes. This position supervises Risk management, Infection Control and Medical Staff Services.------------ Essential Job Functions:--

  • Ability to assist hospitals in enhancing a quality care environment, position clinical outcomes and a high level of patient, physician, and employee satisfaction.Ability to reach, analyze and interpret clinical, financial and other data.Proficient in providing leadership, guidance, direction and oversight at the hospital levelDevelops and implements policies and procedures for Performance Improvement, Patient Safety and Medical Staff Services.Works with people in such a manner as to build cooperation and group commitments to goals and objectives.Identifies and effectively promotes the resolution of difficult operational and clinical care issues.Responsible for developing criteria based position descriptions and evaluation standards, revising them as appropriate with changes in the position.Actively participates in Quality meetings, provides oversight for meeting preparation, and gives presentation on quality management to committee members.Responsible to facilitate preparation for regulatory surveys and corporate surveys and follow-up corrective action development plans if necessary.Educates and assists Directors to maintain appropriate policies, procedures and documentation to fulfill requirements and regulations.Demonstrates current clinical knowledge as well as current knowledge of regulations and standards as relating to Joint Commission, CMS, AHCA, and Department of Health. Remains current in the appropriate fields encompassed by the departments.Develops Performance Improvement plan with Risk Management interface in collaboration with the Performance Improvement CommitteeWorks with people in such a manner as to build cooperation and group commitments to goals and objectives.Identifies and effectively promotes the resolution of difficult operational and clinical care issues.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ensures development of quarterly and annual evaluation of PI programs and plan, presents to PI Committee, Medical Staff, and Board of Trustees.Reviews aggregated outcomes from select initiatives and recommends educational programs.Experience:--
    • Five to Ten years of risk/quality leadership experience required
    • Ten Plus years of risk/quality leadership experience preferredEducation:
      • Requires a Master---s degree in Nursing or a healthcare related field from an accredited college or university. PhD preferred--Licensure/Certification:
