The city was officially incorporated in 1925 and currently has a population of 3,485. The city's approximate general fund budget is $ 8 million, and it has a staff of about 70 employees. Six public parks vary in size and offer a range of amenities for the public. The city has a water plant that provides water service, vegetative brush collection for citizens, and city-staffed police and fire departments. The City Council / CRA Board consists of five members, and several boards and committees meet regularly. City Hall is located at 6333 Ridge Rd.
