Position Summary:Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC)Located on the downtown Orlando campus, Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) has served the Central Florida area for more than 100 years. Med Surg Vision A top functioning inpatient nursing unit at Orlando Health with the most qualified, caring, and ENGAGED team members. Our talented and UNITED team members are focused on growth and development as they attain higher education and certifications. Our team ASSURES patients and families by exceeding quality and patient experience metrics.South Tower 5A/5C Medical Surgical units at Orlando Regional Medical Center have the maximum capacity of 52 bed semi-private rooms (5A 20 beds/5C 32 beds) with the capability of taking care of a variety of med-surg patients with a non-critical status. Our units accept patients who are long term, pending placement, or looking for a skilled nursing facility along with other placement challenges. Our units also accept patients who are admitted for surgical implications, medical management, amputations, and other disease processes such as hypertension, pneumonia, COVID-19, and diabetes. Our units are also capable of cardiac monitoring with remote telemetry. If our patients become critically ill and exceed medical surgical level of care; we safely transfer to a stepdown/critical care unit. Ideal Ratio:

Nurses: 5:1Nursing Assistants: 8:1Charge Nurse on 5A - Charge Nurse on 5C with no patient assignment Position Summary Provides leadership & operational oversight for an inpatient direct care unit or units. Accountable for achievement of department and hospital goals in concert with other hospital and medical staff leadership. Qualifications:Education/Training Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with Graduate degree in Business or health-related field preferred.Licensure/Certification Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. May require one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population: o Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)o Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) o Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) o Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) National leadership board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) within 2 years.Experience Two (2) years as a registered nurse in an acute care setting and one (1) year leadership experience.
