The Opportunity:UCF seeks a Finance/Budget Manager with a desire to be part of an intelligent, highly motivated, and results-driven team. The Finance/Budget Manager position supports the Facilities and Business Operations (FBO) leadership team to accomplish their goals, including new revenue opportunities and effective allocation of resources. The FBO Finance Center is a team of financial professionals who are motivated and strive for excellence. The Finance/Budget Manager serves as a trusted advisor and resource for leadership. The position will support decision-making and planning through financial reporting, data, and analysis.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead preparation of budget development and related reporting and analysis, including trend analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting.
  • Direct and manage accounting/financial operations including but not limited to billings, receivables, collections, procurement, payables, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Assist with the identification, design, and implementation of operational management reports.
  • Provide analytical support for complex projects and university-wide initiatives.
  • Responsible for business process development and documentation, policies, and internal controls.
  • Provide recommendations on continuous improvement, including streamlining processes, removing obstacles and duplication of effort, simplification, and automation.
  • Prepare long-term financial planning support and assists leadership with evaluating business decisions.
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members.
    Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or combination of relevant comparable education and experience.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Related bachelor's degree.
    • Financial certifications such as Certified Budget Specialist (CBS) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to keep confidentiality.
    • Possess natural curiosity and ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
    • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to work closely with leaders to support the resolution of financial issues.
    • Leadership and mentoring experience.
      Special Instructions to the Applicants:This is an Auxiliary (AUX) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
      The work schedule is Monday - Friday, with some flexibility starting between 7:30 am and 9:00 am, and ending between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm.
      The position requires a valid Class E driver's license. -The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
