Make yourself at home with us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) The Associate Director, Supplier Diversity, will assist the Director, Business Development, in the management and continuous improvement of UnitedHealthcare Retiree Solutions (URS) supplier diversity program. -The role will work with the Director, Business Development in developing strategies, policies, processes, objectives and reporting specific to the supplier diversity program across all lines of business within URS including monitoring of specific requirements of URS customers. The position will also serve as a liaison between URS and the UHG Supplier Diversity Team. - You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: -

  • Work closely with the Supplier Diversity team and identified URS leaders in the development of diverse supplier strategies, identifying diverse supplier categories and achieving specific quantitative targets regarding spend and spend penetration with diverse suppliers -
  • Collaborate with sourcing representatives and procurement operations and internal business partners towards consistently including diverse suppliers in the competitive bidding process
  • Track and report diverse spend from all business units within URS -
  • Work closely with sales, account management and internal business partners identifying potential new and growth potential within existing accounts as well as other internal business partners for the potential use of diverse suppliers -
  • Manage customer specific diversity spend reporting and analysis; continually seek to improve existing reporting processes while promoting best business practices
  • Attend diversity conferences, trade shows and procurement meetings when required -
  • Participate in the Supplier Diversity ambassador program, driving continuous improvement in integrating supplier diversity into business & procurement processes - -
  • Work with the Supplier Diversity team in community outreach with diverse suppliers and key local, national and international advocacy organizations
  • Assist in drafting responses to request for proposals (RFPs) and request for information (RFI)
  • Assist in the contracting process to onboard new diverse supplier vendors
  • Facilitate and conduct training of staff regarding URS diverse supplier policy and procedures You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: -
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • 4+ years of experience in a role of developing a supplier diversity program or procurement of Minority & Women-owned Business Enterprises or other similar type companies
    • 2+ years of experience, engagement and deep working knowledge with supplier diversity topics, trends, and principles -
    • 2+ years of experience in building strategy and working with key stakeholders (analytics, operations, sales, or account management environment) -
    • Demonstrated outcome-oriented experience with good bias for action and ability to follow-through and meet deadlines -
    • Relevant business process knowledge, as related to Procurement and Category Management -
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
    • Able and willing to travel 10% +/- depending upon business need

The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900.
