experienced, disciplined, healthcare leaders to develop
transformational partnerships with health systems and payers. -
These experts will deeply understand clients' challenges related to
engaging consumers, modernizing infrastructure and advancing care.
-Specifically, the team will be called upon to develop and launch
large, complex deals that span multiple functional areas and
capabilities. The Market Performance Partnerships team begins by
understanding the client's needs, then works collaboratively with
business unit and product teams, operations leaders, finance and
legal teams to design the tailored solution, develop the financial
models, negotiate the agreements, and plan the transition to live
operations. - Throughout the process, the team partners closely
with our clients to develop the strategy, develop commitment, and
engage the client's board of directors. The VP, Partnership
Development Lead serves as the overall leader to develop qualified
partnership opportunities into fully executed partnerships, leading
all aspects of the pursuit once qualified. - This role will work
with sales on emerging opportunities to identify a scope of work,
develop executive relationships, coordinate the design of a
solution and negotiate contract framework and key terms in
conjunction with business unit owners. This VP will lead Optum
pursuit teams through scoping and solutioning stages, as well as
through contracting and transition planning. S/he will drive deal
close strategy and execution, as well as manage internal/external
deal approvals and executive engagement. - You'll enjoy the
flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you
take on some tough challenges. - Primary Responsibilities:
- Bringing together capabilities that span Optum business units
and product lines
- Providing ad hoc support to sales/origination during the
qualification phase
- Assist in drafting and negotiating partnership Letters of
Intent
- Assisting in identifying likely scope and value drivers
- Participate in or lead client visits to the Optum Innovation
Center
- Work collaboratively with the Solution Design team to organize
the pursuit team resources and lead the partnership design kickoff
event
- Manage customer relationship and Optum executive engagement
with clients throughout the partnership development process
- Oversee all solutioning, design, pricing, legal,
communications, human capital, and transition planning activities
from Discovery through Contracting and up to partnership service
commencement
- Coordinate communications: cross pillar, BU, Governance, Legal,
Finance, and Optum executives
- Manage de-scoping and delivery risks
- Lead contract negotiation, working with Legal
- Present final solution and economics to internal stakeholders
to secure approvals
- Relationship transfer to client delivery executive
- Participate in Transition activities as needed to close out
post signature clean-up and validation items You'll be rewarded and

you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years' experience in health care leadership roles with
health systems or payers
- 5+ years' experience in business development, strategic
consulting, and outsourcing partnership development
- Must have deep knowledge of healthcare clinical,
administrative, and/or technology operations
- Must have experience leading large, multi-tiered and
multimillion dollar sales negotiations
- Must be willing to travel 50 %+ Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in BPO/ITO deal structuring and negotiations
- MBA or other post-graduate degree To protect the health and

*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth
Group's Telecommuter Policy. Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada
Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada
residents is $174,600 to $332,200. Pay is based on several factors
including but not limited to education, work experience,
certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group
