Job Description This position is for the Engineering Prototype Lab (EPL) Engineering Manager. This center employs a highly skilled staff of Machinists, Programmers, Fabricators, and Engineering support with extensive mechanical fabrication & design producibility expertise. EPL's primary business is to service Internal Research and Development (IR&D) projects and development programs. This position provides consulting services to internal engineering customers regarding the in-house producibility of a hardware design as well as the design and fabrication of fixtures and tooling. This position also has direct leadership responsibility for the team of engineers that supports EPL, its technicians, and its customers. Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience / combined education * Working knowledge of GD&T as applied to machining practices (e.g. Mill, Lathe, Grinding, etc.) * Working knowledge of CNC & manual machining, forming, tooling, welding & assembly * Working knowledge of materials, heat treatments and special processes * Experience with Project management & practices as applied to a machining environment * Customer interface experience to speak at a technical level to resolve design issues * Working knowledge of manufacturing finance and earned value reporting * Working knowledge of supply chain requirements in a government contractor atmosphere * Experience with Pro-E and/or CATIA * Working knowledge of SAP for material ordering
