Volt is immediately hiring Network Planning Engineering in Melbourne, FL

Title: Network Planning Engineering
Location: Melbourne, FL 32919
Pay rate: $45-51/hr.

Job Description:
Support on-call rotation and planned off hours maintenance events as needed
Troubleshoot and resolve backbone and customer routing issues
Implement solutions that support customer visions and objectives
Participate in inter program initiatives and discussions to resolve technical challenges
Create and maintain documentation and training for engineering and NOC teams
Maintain operational excellence of network system and components to exceed customer expectations
Define and implement best practices for network and capacity management
Identify areas of opportunity for automation and network optimization
Routinely perform proof of concepts and service trials while documenting system integration


Must have:
Previous Telco experience/design work/provisioning
4+ years of prior WAN Telecommunications networks
Experience with Ethernet
Understanding of TDM based technology, must be able to demonstrate the ability to design, implement and support Ethernet and TDM network infrastructures
AA/AS Degree with 2-4 years' experience (Willing to look at work experience in lieu of a degree; if no degree 8 yrs experience)
Must be Able to obtain a Public Trust


Preferred Skills:
Prior experience with Meta Solv
Cisco Design experience
Experience designing and implementing network technologies such as Carrier Ethernet, MPLS and SDN technologies
Experience with leading network vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, RAD
BA/BS Degree with 4+ years' experience
MEF 2.0 certification and/or equivalent level experience
CCNA Certification or equivalent work experience a plus


This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity.

Pay Range: $45- $51.99 per hour.
