Description: College Summer Internship as a Manufacturing
Engineer supporting production of Microelectronics, Machined
Components, Optics, or Final Assembly at our Missiles and Fire
Control Orlando facility.
Candidate must be pursuing a 4 year engineering degree from an
accredited college or university. Candidate must be able to develop
and implement Manufacturing Process Plans (MPP's) for a variety of
electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies. Utilize basic
drafting and software programs to develop MPP's, design tooling,
support equipment, process flows.
Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and increase
yields. Must have good communication skills and be able to work
effectively in a team environment. Investigate root cause of
failures/defects and implement corrective action to support
continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program pursuing a
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related degree.
The candidate must be a US citizen.
Desired Skills:
Understanding of basic Manufacturing Engineering principles
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Engineering drawing interpretation and material properties
Experience in a Manufacturing environment
Familiarity with optics manufacturing processes; to include
installation, alignment, and interferometric evaluation.
Familiarity with optics design principles.
Experience with manufacturing processes (electronic, mechanical,
optical assemblies), GD&T, precision machining, assembly
sequences.
Machining concepts and equipment (lathes/mills/etc)
Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, industrial processes,
technical writing, and teaming. Strong written & verbal
communication skills.
Knowledge of 'Lean' manufacturing concepts & techniques
CREO/ProE experience with a focus on tooling, taking a concept
through to final design and fabrication
Leadership experience.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated
with this position will be performed onsite at a designated
Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate
work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our
employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day
work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules
provide employees with additional time away from the office and are
in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
