Job Description:
Position is up to 50% travel (US and Canada) Other 50% Remote
Position Purpose
Assist and support the HSE Engineer and Engineering team in
development of HSE/ engineering projects by reviewing regulatory
requirements/ interpretations, identifying improvements
opportunities, evaluating industry best practices, and providing
support to field teams. Assist and support to achieve HSE global
goals.
Major/Key Accountabilities
Support the Assistant Safety Engineer to accomplish the
following:
Support to Implement initiatives and programs designed to reduce
injuries for all North America Brambles-operated sites and for all
CHEP and Brambles field-based employees.
Support analyzing plant equipment is designed to meet internal
standards for safety and advocate for ongoing improvements to
equipment and people safety through engineering controls.
Follow up initiatives for equipment guarding standards and the
engineering of safer tools and machines.
Follow up initiatives for identification and prioritization for
risk through workstation risk assessments.
Assists sites in following corrective actions identified during
internal and or external audits.
Participate on Learning Teams at the site level in support of the
Safety Differently strategy.
Assists HSE engineer to review and provide training of internal/
global procedures and regulatory requirements.
Identifies hazards and controls required to mitigate them as
requested.
Assists others in developing and implementing programs for hazard
identification and control.
Assists in generating reports, charts and spreadsheets as
needed.
Support to drive improvements at the site based upon WorkStation
Risk Assessments, Gap Audit data, Leading safety indicators,
internal audit findings, and Learning Team Initiatives regarding to
Engineering controls o additional assistance needed.
Measures
Ongoing reduction of Brambles recordable incidents as measured by
the Brambles Injury Frequency Rate (BIFR)
Pedestrian Segregation 100% risk mitigation.
Machine Guarding 100% risk mitigation.
Proper management of assigned tasks.
Timely implementation of assigned initiatives.
FY PDP Goals and Objectives.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in safety or similar degree program
or alternatively, 5 plus years of on the job experience in
safety.
Desirable Qualifications:
OSHA (or equivalent) certifications
Experience
5+ years of experience in a Safety role.
Languages Essential
English
