Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Quality
Engineer Manager to join our team in Apopka, FL.
As a leader, partner and essential member of the Apopka Quality and
Mission Excellence (QME) leadership team, the Quality Manager will
lead a high performing Quality team and will be responsible for
executing, monitoring and reporting on the health of programs and
quality of products and services.
The Quality Manager reports to the Apopka Organizational Unit QME
Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provides clear assignments, helps employees connect their
efforts to the bigger picture, creates an inclusive work

highest levels of performance. Maintains the highest level of
commitment to quality, compliance and internal controls in
adherence to company values and ethics.
- Sets and monitors inspection priorities in order to meet
program milestones.
- Collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, GSC, Program
Management teams to support internal need times and increase
operational efficiency.
- Defines and monitors program specifications, quality metrics,
internal audit metrics and other processes to ensure product
quality.
- Provides quality reporting to support Organizational Unit,
Business Unit, and Division reporting requirements.
- Assumes responsibility for timely and effective corrective
actions.
- Participates in internal and external audits.
- Sets the strategy to meet customer's expectations, regularly
communicates and briefs leadership on quality status.
- Assures compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process
improvement, subcontractor and supplier quality, configuration and
data management in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Develops and administers budgets, schedules and resource
planning.
- Responsible for department yields, expenses, and non-applied
time, performance evaluation and merit planning.
- Promotes the professional development of the inspector
workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the
momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability,
innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.
- Leverages employees' strengths, identify and address skills
gaps
- Promotes employee retention by mentoring the team members and
provides growth opportunities
- Frequent collaborate with executives and customer
representatives, including on-site DCMA representatives, concerning
projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and
contractual clarifications.Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years minimum (or Master's degree and
7+ years, PhD degree and 4+ years) of Mission Assurance, Quality
Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Program Management
experience.
- Five (5) years of leadership experience in a quality,
engineering or manufacturing team environment.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance. (US Citizenship
required)
- Experience performing/leading RCCA investigations
- Experience with customers, such as DCMA, especially during
product sell off, shipping and product support as they apply to
quality.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 systems including
certification processPreferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience managing/leading employees in a direct
reporting and matrixed environment in dispersed locations
- Ability to perform quality related data analysis
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation
and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated discernment. Clearly
demonstrated commitment to open communication and customer
satisfaction
- Ability to further continuous yet controlled improvements in
organizations and processes and strengthening of workforce skills
through application of Lean / Six Sigma principles and tools
- Work experience assisting with the DoD proposal process.
- Demonstrated understanding of the program/product lifecycle in
the areas of new business pursuit, design, supply chain management,
receiving operations, inventory control, production control,
product test & evaluation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Tool suite (i.e.: Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Project)
- ASQ / CQE Certification
- SAP experienceMAQEA
Salary Range: $102,500 USD - $153,700 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage,
