OpportunityThe Department of Physics (physics.ucf.edu) at the
University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a
full-time, nine-month, tenure-track assistant professor,
anticipated to begin in August 2024. We seek candidates with
experience and research plans in experimental physics with an
emphasis on superconductor-based devices for quantum information
applications, including, but not limited to, quantum computing,
quantum transduction, and quantum sensing. The successful
candidate's research is expected to leverage a recent major
investment by UCF in cleanroom facilities for fabrication of
state-of-the-art micro- and nano-scale devices. The selected
candidate will be expected to establish a vigorous, externally
funded, and creative research program and have a strong commitment
to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education.Minimum
Qualifications:A Ph.D. in physics or a closely related discipline
from an accredited institution by time of hire, and a substantial
record of independent research.Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong research record in the area of superconductor-based
devices.
- Experience teaching physics at the university level.Additional
