Job Description:

SUMMARY: Responsible for developing engaging messaging concepts, copy, and scripts for a variety of content engagement projects and programs. All creative work should resonate with the Universal Orlando online brand and social voice. Works closely with other creatives, as well as team members from the Content Engagement team.RESPONSIBILITIES:WRITES COMPELLING ONLINE COMMUNICATIONS TO BUILD THE UOR BRAND AND FAN BASE

  • Crafts storylines and narratives for video content.
  • Ensures videos follow a narrative that is aligned with both strategic and brand goals.
  • Writes and edits compelling content for online marketing communications across assigned brands and channels.
  • Works within the strategy and positioning developed by internal clients while helping them to understand and communicate better in an online world.
  • Able to capture the essence of key messages(s) in as few words as possible in an online environment (e.g. key differentiators, brand essence, key facts, etc.)
  • Provides and maintains copy clarity, correctness and excitement from start-to-finish of any given project.STRATEGIC THINKING
    • Seeks to gain a deep understanding of the motivations and behaviors of the target audience(s) to increase the relevance and effectiveness of messages
    • Understands technical aspects of online copy. (e.g. text links and anchors, SEO considerations, id of relevant tags and core data)
    • Campaign Support -assist in executing creative social media campaigns in support of marketing campaigns and annual events such as Universal's Mardi Gras, and Halloween Horror Nights, Annual Passholder engagement.
    • Must be able to bring a creative audacious tone, and have a passion for pop culture, current events, and be able to anticipate and identify important social media trends.
    • Maintains Solid Understanding of UOR Core Business, Brand Portfolio, Brand Standards and Target AudiencesTEAMWORK/COLLABORATION
      • Interacts with team to develop video narratives and copy that are on-brand and on-target for assigned campaigns and projects.
      • Works closely with team members to effectively manage partner expectations regarding deliverables.
      • Maintains and encourages a proactive and open line of communication with other team members.
      • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
      • Perform other duties as assignedEDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or degree from creative portfolio school.EXPERIENCE:***Include Portfolio of work***
        • 1+ years of professional experience in copywriting for a major brand or within an advertising agency, producing online copy for multiple brands or clients.
        • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional copywriting and storytelling skills that deliver results.
        • The ability to quickly and persuasively come up with crisp, effective online messages.
        • Passionate about working online and creating fresh interesting ways to connect with online communities.
        • A genuine passion for creating engaging content.
        • Digital publishing experience, copywriting and editing experience.
        • Thrive in a deadline driven environment with the ability to manage multiple priority assignments simultaneously.
        • Eye for detail.
        • Ability to step outside of one's own voice or writing style to convey a brand appropriate united voice.
        • Experience in like industry (travel, tourism, entertainment) and with like targets/demographics (teens/tweens, vacationers, Floridians, Hispanics) a plus
