Job Description Position Purpose This position will lead advanced data analytics for CHEP North America Finance, developing advanced quantitative models using a variety of programs/software to support predictive assessments. The role will initially focus on the finance support to retail, and expand to support other finance work and functions. This role will drive step change improvements on how CHEP NAM finance teams organize, utilize and extract insights from data. Major/Key Accountabilities Financial Support to Retail's Transactional, Operational, Commercial, and Data workstreams. Work with data science techniques and libraries to show data's applicability to business problems. Develop advanced quantitative models using a variety of programs/software to support predictive assessments. Establish a more granular (e.g.: cluster) view of the cost to serve for Retailers and maintain a Retail P&L. Adoption of advanced data analytics into financial processes and forecasts Support Strategy and Performance Reviews and maintain a repository of key metrics over time Develop and deploy deep-dive analysis as needed. Apply quantitative analysis to see beyond the numbers and provide user-friendly outputs and actionable insights. Conduct explanatory data analysis through statistical analysis and statistical inference. Present data insights and deliver presentations. Work closely with all internal stakeholders to improve the quality of insights provided. Ensure best practices implementation to improve service to business stakeholders. Ensure insights are available to be used on internal processes. Propose enhancements on new/current tools (standardization, usability, workload). Create documentation for internal processes. Investigate and propose external data sources that can bring value for asset control processes. Design, build and automate business metrics to support strategic initiatives & projects using data as main enabler. Highlight, communicate and propose solutions to key issues on data and processes within CHEP systems. Expand the lessons learned with key large customers and re-apply to other customers/manufacturers Prepare presentations for the Executive Team and Board of Directors to highlight financial trends and summarize business plans Provide timely and accurate response to multiple stakeholders, including ELT and Regional CFO. Support ad-hoc requests and required analytics on performance of US business with core drivers. Measures The quality and effectiveness of predictive financial models The level of forecast and budget accuracy and/or the achievement of the BU budget and forecast within the market under responsibility as measured by % variance The quality of insight and commentary on the financial results and performance within the market The % standard tools, models, processes and metrics developed and adopted within the organization Challenges Ability to work across different time zones and cultures both within Finance and across the Business Navigating the complexity of working in a matrix structure. Ability to support multiple finance and business functions. Skills and Knowledge Strong understanding of FP&A, Commercial and Supply Chain Finance processes Very strong business acumen and track record of solving complex business problems Highly collaborative, team-oriented approach Executive presence and comfortable presenting/leading discussions with senior leadership Highly collaborative, team-oriented approach Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint and data analytics and data visualization software. Fluent in PowerBI Experience with SAP (or other ERP systems), forecasting and financial consolidation tools.
