Sr. Actuarial Analyst- Remote

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Perform quantitative analysis of actuarial, financial, utilization and costs data to help leaders make decisions -
  • Develop and implement methodologies and assumptions to estimate unpaid claim liabilities and other reserves
  • Design and refine health insurance reserving tools
  • Develop monthly unpaid claim liability estimates and related calculations -
  • Assist the appointed actuary in the preparation of annual reserve certification filings
  • Develop and implement monthly reserve reporting tools

    Required Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • Actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more Actuarial exams
    • 2+ years of Actuarial experience
    • Advanced or higher proficiency in MS Excel


      Preferred Qualifications:


      • Health insurance reserve experience
      • Experience explaining actuarial concepts to non-actuarial audiences
      • Experience working in finance or the health care industry
      • At least a basic level of proficiency with VBA, MS Access, SQL (Structured Query Language), and/or SAS (Statistical Analysis System) -

        Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada / New York City residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
