Job Description
Senior Buyers are responsible for ensuring the material needs of Westgate are met for renovation and development projects. They are required to maintain a project matrix, trackers, negotiating bids, creating purchase orders, and logistics. Senior Buyers will be asked to source new vendors and products. In addition to supervising projects to ensure they are following procedures, meeting timeline, scope, and budget. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. Additionally, the person must possess and adhere to the following core company values: IntegrityPassionWork Ethic -- -ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Request competitive bids and contracts related to projects using company standards.Maintain project matrices and reporting for budgeting.Evaluate bids and make objective awards.Read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.Communicate effectively to buyers all tasks and deadlines.Lead procurement efforts for new product development and sourcing.Track payments and accounting holds on all project invoicing. Assist all buyers with on hold reporting.Maintain working relationships with vendors to create a lasting partnership.Report to Manager project statuses, ensure all potential and immediate issues are raised to management in a timely manner.Collaborate with management on continued development plan and skills for the team.Mentor and train new FF&E Buyers and team members.
Qualifications
-- - 2 -----" 5 years of FF&E procurement experience.Experience in project management is preferred. Education & Certifications: Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM) Skills/Knowledge: Must use sound business judgment in all decision making.Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and learn automated purchasing system -----" Oracle).Must be a self-motivator and team player. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties related to this position, the team member will regularly visit construction sites. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and other team members of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITIES
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of the work involved in this position will be conducted from an office or other field office. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
