Essential Job FunctionsDescription of Job Function1. Support the
development of Valencia's fiscal year budget.
Description of Job Function2. Gather, analyze, and reconcile large
amounts of data to assist with the budget development.
Description of Job Function3. Plan, develop, organize and implement
financial models for forecasting and budgeting purposes.
Description of Job Function4. Coordinate and develop budget reports
using Millennium FAST, Banner, Excel, and Power Point.
Description of Job Function5. Design financial models related to
revenue, personnel, current, and capital to identify trends,
patterns, and relationships.
Description of Job Function6. Assist the AVP of Budget & Analysis
and the Director of Budget & Analysis in statistical analysis and

QualificationsRequired Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree from a
regionally accredited institution.
Required Field of StudyFinance, Statistics, Accounting, Business
Administration or a related field.
Other Required QualificationsMinimum of three (3) years of
experience in a budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis role
(profit/non-profit); or a combination of education and experience
totaling (5) years.
Preferred Education & Field of StudyMaster's degree in Finance,
Statistics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
from an regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Type of Experience
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesConsiderable knowledge and
understanding of budget processes, researching, analyzing and
collections of data.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and reporting
Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct variance analysis
and find root cause of complex problems.
Effective communication skills and ability to create presentations,
explain variances, and provide recommendations based on data
Strong mathematical skills and ability to use reporting software
including spreadsheets, database functions, and financial analysis
Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast pace, deadline oriented
business environment with accuracy.
Ability to work in a diverse community and meet the needs of
diverse student populations.
General Working ConditionsThis job primarily operates in a
professional office environment. The employee will routinely
operate standard office equipment including but not limited to
computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers,
scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the
duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is
usually quiet to moderate.Typical physical competencies include but
are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving,
reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending,
lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also
entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging
information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a
distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities
include but are not limited to frequently using discretion,
judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality,
comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.The typical
work environment, physical and cognitive demands listed above are
